Lawn party, beach supper, and salt air

Diggs correspondent reports, The lawn party at Mr. T.A. Diggs’s was largely attended and everyone seemed to have a good time.Mr. John J. Forrest received on Saturday last a large and beautiful dog sent to him from Norfolk by Capt. A.J. Morgan. Mr. Forrest is more than pleased with his new pet.
The supper on the Haven Beach will take place on Tuesday the 27th. We would insist on you coming as it’s one of those large suppers. Everything good to eat at a low price. You people of the village who don’t get the salt air, everybody come down and let us serve you.

At Laban, everything around this way is looking fine. All the farmers are smiling; even those who planted peas this season are showing a little smile.
