Laura Berniece Rowe, age 86, of Hayes, died on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital, surrounded by her family. Berniece had two missions in her life: caring for her family and feeding hungry children in the Gloucester County Public School system cafeteria for 34 years. She was a member of Union Baptist Church, Achilles. Husband, Robert Lee Rowe Jr.; parents, John Thomas and Laura Conway Belvin; siblings, Ruth Lee West, Lucille Gertrude Davis, Mildred Gertrude Belvin, Gladys Mae Belvin, Melvin Thomas Belvin, Linwood Thomas Belvin, and son-in-law, Brian Bidwell preceded her in death. She is survived by two children, Dennis K. Smith (Melissa) and Debbie L. Bidwell, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

On Tuesday, September 3, 2024, from 1-1:45 p.m., the family received friends at Union Baptist Church, 9254 Guinea Road, Hayes, Va. 23072, followed by the funeral service conducted by Pastor Jared Berry at 2 o’clock. The interment was at Gloucester Point Cemetery. In memory of our loved one, contributions may be made to Union Baptist Church, 9254 Guinea Road, Hayes, Va. 23072.
