Jose Ramirez Band will perform its brand of hard-stomping, soulful blues at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Flat Iron Crossroads in Gloucester.
The outdoor show arena opens at 5:30 p.m. with the FIX bar and Coastal Thirst food truck. The show will move indoors if it rains.
Tickets are $18 in advance and $22 at the door. They are available online at flatironcrossroads.com.
Jose Ramirez is a top Latin America blues artist and has played with such blues giants as Buddy Guy, Kingfish, and James Armstrong, said a press release. He recently signed a contract with blues label Delmark Records in Chicago for the release of his second studio album. He’s the first Latin-American artist to sign with the record company seven decades.
The album, “Major League Blues,” includes an all-star band consisting of Bob Stroger on bass, Willie Hayes on drums, Billy Flynn on guitar, Roosevelt Purifoy Jr. on organ, and special guest guitarist Jimmy Johnson.
