The Lancaster Elementary School Theater will come alive with flamenco, tango, salsa and more on Saturday, Feb. 10, as dancers with the Latin Ballet of Virginia perform selections from Alma Latina.
The show, hosted by the Rappahannock Foundation for the Arts, will weave tradition, culture and politics into a journey about the history and soul (“alma”) of Latin America, the Caribbean and Spain. The performance starts at 7:30 p.m. at the theater, 191 School Street, Kilmarnock; doors open at 7.
“We are thrilled to bring in the multitalented Latin Ballet of Virginia, one of our regional artistic gems,” said Donna McGrath, RFA administrator. “They are highly skilled in using music, costume, and the expressive beauty of movement—from the elegance of classical ballet to the earthy power of modern dance—to create compelling stories.”
