After a courageous battle with Huntington’s Disease, Larry Dean Pratt of Gloucester Point, Va., passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Sept. 29, 2011.
Larry was born Oct. 11, 1956, in Hampton, Va. He was preceded in death by his parents, Doc Jasper and Catherine Pratt.
Larry is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 22 years, Celeste Pratt. Also left behind to cherish his memory are three sons, Larry Jr., Dillon (and Trina), and Justin Pratt; along with three stepchildren, Jason and Joshua Gay, and his sweet "Cor-Cor," Cori Wallace.
He leaves behind five grandchildren, Cody, Kendall, Bella, Micaela, and Ainsley, who filled him with love and joy every day. He also leaves behind two brothers, Tommy and Daniel Pratt; along with several nieces and nephews.
Larry was the owner of Larry’s Lot Clearing and Landscaping, in Gloucester County, for 25 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who cherished his family.
A special thank you to his cousin, Mary Catherine Scheuring, whose love and support throughout his illness was immeasurable.
The family would also like to thank Dr. John Prince Jr. and the nurses from Hospice of Virginia for their hard work and dedication.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 118 Old York-Hampton Hwy., in Yorktown.
