Cindy Lanning, who recently served as a fifth grade teacher at Botetourt Elementary, has signed on as the new Director of Christian Education at Gloucester’s Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church.
In this role, Lanning oversees the church’s educational programs for all ages. Of particular focus is offering Sunday school classes for every age, from babies through seniors.
Lanning holds a license to teach pre-kindergarten through sixth grade in Virginia. She has served Gloucester County Public Schools in many ways, including serving on the Teacher Advisory Council for the Superintendent, Principal Interview Panel, and Virginia Tiered Support System Committee.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in management and marketing from Christopher Newport University. She is married to Steve Lanning, owner of CSL Enterprises in Gloucester, and they are the parents of two adult children, Corinne and Ben, and a high school senior, Sam.
