Arts on Main is offering a workshop on painting landscapes in oil from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 10 and 11 at the gallery on Main Street in Gloucester.
During the workshop, “Color and Light in the Landscape,” award-winning artist Lynn Mehta will focus on how to translate reference materials in order to create studio landscape paintings filled with color and light, said a press release. Mehta will demonstrate strategies to develop a successful painting, expand skills, and tap into personal inspiration.
Mehta has been an artist since childhood. She grew up in La Jolla on the Southern California coast, earned her bachelor’s degree in art from San Diego State University, and now lives in Alexandria. She has studied with internationally acclaimed artists, is a Juried Artist Member of the Salmagundi Club and the Washington Society of Landscape Painters, and is a Signature Member of the Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association and the American Society of Marine Artists...
