Lady Dukes’ season ends at Hampton

The Gloucester High School varsity girls’ basketball team’s season came to an end during the first round of the region quarterfinals, losing to the Hampton Crabbers on the road Friday night, 89-23.
Autumn Cookson led the Lady Dukes in scoring with a total of 11 points. Other scorers for Gloucester included Rylie Williams and Aalyiah Smith-Boone with four points each and Kate Vannoy and Avery Watkins scoring two points apiece. In rebounds, Alesha Williams had the most with six, followed by Smith-Boone with four, Rylie Williams with three, Vannoy with two and Cookson with one.
Alesha Williams, Alexis Dishman and Rylie Williams were recorded as having two assists each and Vannoy and Cookson had one apiece. In steals, Cookson had three and Alesha Williams and Smith-Boone had one each. Rylie Williams had two blocks, followed by Cookson with one block.
