Lady Dukes post two non-district soccer wins

The Gloucester High School varsity girls’ soccer team posted two shutouts at Warhill Stadium in recent non-district action.

In a very competitive match with Lafayette High School, Mary Williams got the Dukes on the board late in the first half when she dropped the ball over the Rams’ keeper to make it 1-0.

In the second half, Gloucester defenders Taylor Gamble and Karson Wass did a good job of holding the Rams to only three shots on goal. Dukes’ midfielders Carrie Adams, Lauren Orga and Olivia Cross helped control the ball and allow their team seven shots on goal, although none found the back of the net.

 

The next match with the Warhill Lions was much the same. Williams drilled one past the Lions’ keeper midway through the first half. In the second half, Delaney Doyle passed the ball to Cross who added another goal for a 2-0 win. Cheyenne Hogge and Rachael Peterson shared keeper duties for the Dukes.
