Lady Dukes finish regular season undefeated

The Gloucester High School varsity softball team finished its regular season with back-to-back wins against Woodside, securing the Peninsula District title.
Gloucester defeated Woodside, 22-0, last Thursday on the road. Autumn Cookson (12-0) threw a two-hit shutout, striking out 11 batters.
Leading the offense, Cookson had three RBIs and three hits and Kaia Hutton had two RBIs and three hits. Cookson also had two doubles, followed by Hutton with one. Hannah Horsley, Tessa Carteret and Kayla Pasipanki each had two hits and drove in three runs. Samantha Carlton also added four RBIs.
The Lady Dukes defeated Woodside, 16-0, again on Monday at home. Hutton registered her 100th hit of her career on a first inning double to right centerfield, driving Alivia Bruce to home plate. Hutton had two hits and two RBIs during the game.
