Lady Dukes demolish opponents on the field

The Gloucester High School varsity softball team had another undefeated week of game play, coming away with wins against Manor, Hampton and Denbigh high schools.
The Lady Dukes beat the Manor Mustangs, 22-0, on the road last Wednesday, March 20. Autumn Cookson pitched a one-hitter and struck out 13 batters.
Alivia Bruce had three hits with a double and six RBIs. Samantha Carlton had two hits and drove in four runs for Gloucester. Kaia Hutton had two hits with a double and an RBI and Cameron Palas had two hits and drove in a run.
Hampton
Gloucester traveled to Hampton last Thursday to beat the Crabbers, 20-0. The Lady Dukes scored seven runs in the second inning after a scoreless first inning. Bruce pitched a two-hit shutout, striking out 12 batters with six consecutive strikeouts.
Hutton had three hits with a double and an RBI to lead the Lady Dukes offensively. Cookson achieved two hits with a triple and four RBIs. Carlton, Coral Santos and Alexis Dishman all had two hits apiece with ...
