Lady Dukes defeat Warriors

The Gloucester High School girls’ varsity basketball team beat the Kecoughtan Warriors, 47-41, in last Thursday night’s thriller on the road.
Aaliyah Smith-Boone led Gloucester in the most baskets, scoring a total of 14 points. Carter Flippin and Autumn Cookson both scored 11 points each, followed by Hannah Horsley with six, and Madelyn Rowe and Chloe Davis with one point scored apiece.
Horsley led with the most rebounds with 16. Smith-Boone had 11, followed by Alyssa Wilson with five. Cookson, Davis, Addison Hoover and Hannah Mullis recorded three rebounds each, and Flippin had two.
In steals, Horsley led Gloucester with five. Cookson had four, followed by Davis with two and Flippin, Hoover and Mullis with one each. Horsley also recorded two assists, followed by Cookson, Flippin, Smith-Boone and Rowe with one each. In blocks, Mullis had three and Horsley had two.
