The Gloucester High Schools varsity girls’ basketball team beat the West Point Pointers, 59-37, Monday evening at home.
Autumn Cookson led Gloucester in points, scoring 18. Aaliyah Smith-Boone scored eight points, followed by Alesha Williams with seven, Carter Flippin, Addison Hoover and Kate Vannoy with six apiece, and Chloe Davis, Hannah Horsley, Hannah Mullis and Alyssa Wilson with two points each.
In rebounds, Davis had the most for the Lady Dukes with eight, followed by Smith-Boone with seven, Wilson with five, Hoover with four, Horsley, Vannoy and Williams with three each and Cookson and Flippin with two apiece. Together, the Lady Dukes recorded 37 rebounds.
Leading in assists were Flippin and Williams with four each, followed by Davis with three, Horsley with two and Smith-Boone, Vannoy and Wilson with one each.
Williams led Gloucester in steals with seven, followed by Cookson with five, Horsley with four, Flippin with two and Davis, Mullis and Smith-Boone recording one each. Wilson also had one block.
In two previous games, the girls fell to Bethel, 45-34, last Thursday on the road, and Hampton, 81-17, the following evening at home.
The Lady Dukes will travel this afternoon to play Heritage High School. They will return to their home court on Tuesday to face the Woodside Wolverines.
