Lady Dukes crush Raiders

The Gloucester High School varsity softball team annihilated the Warwick Raiders, 26-1, Tuesday afternoon at home. The Lady Dukes surrendered a single run in the first inning, but were able to score 19 runs in their first at-bat.
Autumn Cookson had three hits for three at-bats, achieving a double and four RBIs. Lilly Hogan also had three hits and contributed three RBIs. Alexis Dishman had two hits and four RBIs, while Cameron Palas had two hits and three RBIs. Hannah Horsley, Tessa Carteret and Kyndall Sales each had two hits, combining for seven RBIs.
Avery West moved her pitching record to 4-0 as the freshman struck out 14 batters, while giving up only one run on two hits.
The Lady Dukes will travel to Warwick this afternoon and Menchville on Tuesday before hosting the Menchville Monarchs next Thursday. All games have a scheduled start time of 4:30 p.m.
