The Gloucester High School varsity girls’ basketball team had a great week, defeating Mathews, Denbigh and Middlesex.
The Lady Dukes defeated the Mathews Blue Devils on the road last Wednesday, Feb. 1, 38-33. This ended Gloucester’s nine-game losing streak.
The GHS varsity boys’ basketball team lost to Mathews at home the same night, 78-74. In a very close game, Gloucester led in scoring for most of the second half but ultimately lost in the end.
The Gloucester JV boys’ team defeated Mathews at home, 65-42.
Denbigh
The Lady Dukes continued their win streak Friday, beating Denbigh, 30-28, at home.
The GHS boys also took on Denbigh at home Friday night, falling to the Patriots, 74-64. Dylan Deyoung led Gloucester in scoring with 19 points, followed by Braden Hudgins with 13 points.
Middlesex
The Lady Dukes faced Middlesex Monday night, beating the Chargers, 31-24.
