Lady Dukes capture district title

The Gloucester High School girls soccer team won the Peninsula District regular season championship and earned an Eastern Region Tournament bid with a 6-0 win over visiting Warwick on Tuesday. The Dukes went undefeated on the season with one tie on the way to their second consecutive district championship.

Maegan Beck scored first for host Gloucester with an assist from Mary Williams. Williams then assisted a goal by Katie Daugherty, and Marianne Warrington scored the third goal with some help from Taylor Gamble. Beck struck for her second goal in the half, again assisted by Williams.

Williams notched a goal of her own in the second half with an assist from Lauren Orga and Delaney Doyle scored the sixth goal for the Dukes, assisted by McKensie Fischer.
