The Gloucester High School girls’ varsity soccer team saw its season come to end last Wednesday as the fell, 2-1, to Menchville in the Region 5B playoff tournament. The Dukes’ lone goal was scored by Rylee Amaral. The girls had a strong season, going 10-5-1 overall and 9-1 against regional opponents. This included a three-game win streak to close the regular season with victories over Kecoughtan, Warwick and Phoebus which they beat, 8-0, on May 16. Amaral, shown here moving past Warwick defenders during a match earlier this season, led the Dukes in scoring in 2023 with 22 goals and four assists.
