Lacayo wins Island Duathlon

Jason Lacayo was the overall winner of Saturday’s Gwynn’s Island Duathlon (4-mile run and 10-mile bike ride) with a combined time of 1:16:44.9, also taking first in the male 40-59 category.
Marsha Jedlinski was the top female competitor, finishing the run and ride in 1:16:54.8 (also taking first in the female 21-39 category). Other top combined winners were, for the men: Josiah Johnson (1:20:05.4, 21-39 age group) and William Johnson (1:25:54.2, ages 60 and older); and for the women, Tracy Battilla (1:24:19.4, 40-49 age group) and Debbie Abbott (1:41:49.4, ages 60 and older).
For the 4-mile run, John Oplinger was the top finisher with a time of 28:49.5, also taking first in the male 40-59 age group. Christine Wilson finished first for the women with a time of 37:51.8, also taking first for women 40-59.
Other run winners by age were, for the men: Seth James (29:20, ages 20 and under), Bobby Argabrite (50:52.9, ages 21-39) and Randall Sweet (38:04.9, ages 60 and older); and for the women...
