K&Q Historical Society to meet April 27

The King and Queen County Historical Society invites the public to its quarterly meeting at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 27. The program will be held in the courtroom of the county’s Administration Building.
Donald R. (Rob) Warner of Middlesex County and Charlottesville will speak of his adventures in the role of a (self-proclaimed) “slightly gifted” historian. He is a contributor to the latest K&Q Historical Society Bulletin article on the early Beverleys, following the family as it spread through King and Queen and other Virginia counties. Also, Warner has contributed articles to various other historical societies and journals. He will exhibit an array of maps, books, and other materials of interest.
Refreshments will be served in the Tavern Museum following the program. The Tavern has been closed for the winter season, but will be open on Fridays starting May 2 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. until the end of November.
