A groundbreaking ceremony will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 20, at the home of the new Telework Center located at 4521 Lewis B. Puller Memorial Highway in King and Queen County, beginning at 2 p.m. The Telework Center will house the Middle Peninsula Planning District, a medical provider, as well as a telework center for businesses interested in doing business on the Middle Peninsula.
Funding partners for the project include the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration and the Virginia Department of Transportation. The architects and builders of the Telework Center are Commonwealth Architects, Skanska, and Connemara Corporation.
The 7,000-square foot-building will serve as a hub for economic development on the Middle Peninsula with an emphasis on coastal resiliency and growth.
The anticipated opening of the Telework Center is December 2024.
