A kokedama workshop led by Okie Sidehamer of Newport News will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Brent and Becky’s Bulbs, Ware Neck.
The class includes instruction in using live moss to hold plants; the $30 fee includes all materials. Reservations are required and may be made by calling 804-693-3966.

Every Friday in August, Dog Days of Summer, #fivedollarfriday, a campaign with other businesses for the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society.
A release said that anyone donating through #fivedollarfriday or with the participating businesses will be entered to win a grand prize package with items donated by the local businesses consisting of items and gift cards totaling over $500.
National Honey Bee Day will be observed 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 21. The Colonial Beekeepers Association will have members at Brent and Becky’s to distribute information.
