While many of us are still recovering from Christmas and New Year’s celebrations, it’s only a week until the General Assembly gets going, so it’s time for a refresher course on who is representing us in Virginia’s legislature.
The 2024 session convened Wednesday. The legislators will have only two months to make changes to the governor’s proposed biennial budget and come up with the laws and amendments to those laws that govern our state.
Redistricting has created changes for all residents of Gloucester and Mathews, some more than others. First, the district names have changed. No longer are Gloucester and Mathews in the 98th House of Delegates’ district. Much of that district, which is still represented by M. Keith Hodges, is now the 68th, all except for lower Gloucester, which is in the 69th district, represented by William C. “Chad” Green.
