The Gloucester Youth Football and Cheer League Knights hosted the Williamsburg Hornets over the weekend.
The Gloucester 8U Knights defeated the Williamsburg Hornets, 12-0. Michael Smith recorded two touchdowns, six carries for 91 yards, a 65-yard scramble and a three-yard run. Michael Blasing had three carries for 20 yards.
On defense, Smith recorded five tackles, a sack and two fumble recoveries. Ezekiel Gray and Sir Young recorded four and three tackles, respectively.
The 10U Knights fell to the Hornets, 14-13. Dreyden Pluim scored two touchdowns during the match. The Knights fell short when they did not score the extra point for Pluim’s second touchdown.
The 12U Knights also fell to the Hornets, 13-7. Offense was led by quarterback Delonta Ball who had six carries for 27 yards and a 50-yard touchdown. Xavier Broughman had eight carries for 32 yards and scored an extra point. Demond Hopkins had one catch and a 50-yard touchdown reception.
