Gloucester Youth Football teams faced off against the Williamsburg Hornets over the weekend.
The Gloucester Red Knights Minis flag football team defeated the Williamsburg Hornets, 44-12. Landan Lopez led the offensive effort with 143 rushing yards and two touchdowns on only four carries. Gabriel Franklin, Adorian Lee, Bryce Newkirk and Aiden Collins all scored rushing touchdowns. On defense, Franklin had four solo tackles and Lee caught two interceptions. Easton Rasmussen stymied the Hornets passing attack with multiple pass breakups. Hunter Seltzer and Mason Ernsting recorded key tackles as the defense racked a shutout in the second half.
The Gloucester Red Knight Mighty Mites defeated the Hornets, 12-6. Durrall Daisy led the offense with 105 total yards and a touchdown. Tyrell Daisy had 80 rushing yards and a touchdown also passed for 33 yards.
