Kim Mills, 52, of Wake, Va., lost a short but courageous battle with breast cancer Nov. 16, 2020, with her fiancé, Harry, by her side.
Kim was born and raised in Harwich, Cape Cod, Mass. She graduated from Harwich High School, Class of 1985.
Kim grew up playing on the beaches of Cape Cod. She skied and hiked the mountains of New England.
She moved to Virginia 20 years ago, working in several marinas detailing boats and sailing the Chesapeake. Over the last 10 years, she worked in the cafeterias of Petsworth and Page schools, and raised two wonderful sons, Logan and Jordan.
Kim enjoyed gardening, jewelry making, painting, hiking the trails and mountains of Virginia with her sons, four-wheeling and in the past few years competitive shooting. She was a free spirit.
She is survived by her sons, Logan and Jordan Mills of Wake; her soul mate, Harry D’Arcy of Wake; her mother, Donna Molander (John) of Chatham, Mass.; her father, Steven Robbins (Betsy) of Harwich; stepsister, Terry Ferris (Tom) of Harwich; her maternal grandmother, Jacqueline Barrett, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
