Kenneth W. Marshall Sr. of Mathews, went home to be with the Lord on Sept. 12, 2013.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Brown, and father, Preston Marshall Sr.; sisters, Peggy Hernandez, Betty Jenkins, and a brother, James Marshall.
Kenneth was known to many as Pops, Daddy, Paw Paw, Pop Pop and Bubs. Kenneth was known for his big hands, hard work as a waterman and his love for his cat “Frip Nat.” Kenneth had a hard life and it was not easy for him. He worked for everything he had and no one could say anything against or about any of his children because Daddy would be quick to draw. He had made mistakes as we all have, but he loved his family, church family, friends, his pastors, Pastor Chris and Debbie Morgan. Most of all Kenny loved the Lord. He was a testimony that your past does not matter and your future can shine bright. He was a life touched by Jesus Christ “Forever Changed.” He loved his family and his laugh will be missed. His memories will be painted in our hearts. Although this is a sad time, we can rejoice knowing Daddy is in Heaven running with Jesus. Daddy, you will be missed, we love you and one day we will meet again.
His surviving relatives include his sons, Scott Marshall, Kenneth W. Marshall Jr. and Dian, Michael A. Marshall and wife Katrina; daughters, Susan Riedel and husband Gary, and Karen Adams; grandchildren, Alyscia Marshall, Kenneth Dale Marshall, William Marshall and Amber Marshall; a brother, Preston Marshall and wife Dolly; three great-grandchildren and his special friend “Frip Nat” his cat. Kenneth was surrounded by amazing caregivers, loved ones, and many more family and friends.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013, at 2 p.m. in Cornerstone Fellowship Church, Cobbs Creek, Va.
Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews, Va., was in charge of the arrangements.
