Scott Jenkins, 47, of Gloucester, died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011.

Born in Hampton, he was a waterman and builder who loved watching the Philadelphia Eagles and Matt Kenseth. He enjoyed mud-bogging, sitting around the fire in the backyard with his family, and cooking for everyone.

Preceded in death by his father, Curtis Kenneth Jenkins, and his step-father, James O. Fowler; survivors include his wife, Cindy Jenkins; his son, Cainon Jenkins; his mother, Shirley A. Fowler; his grandmother, Elizabeth Jenkins; his sister, Kim Peterson and her husband Mike; his step-children, Nina Laxton, and Brian, David and Shane Freeman; nine grandchildren; a niece; two nephews, and his special dog, "Blaze."

The family received friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, Hampton. A private memorial service will take place at a later date.
