Katherine Stubblefield Stokes, 85, died May 24, 2011 in New Jersey.

Born and raised in Gloucester County, she worked for NACA and NASA at Langley Field and later at Johnson Spacecraft Center, Houston. She retired and returned to Gloucester in 1978, where she was active in First Presbyterian Church, Gloucester.

She is survived by sister, Anne Stubblefield Forrest; son, David A. Stokes, and daughters, Patricia Stokes Robinson and Phyllis Stokes Manuel; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service is planned for later this summer.
