Katherine Hasty Bridges “Kitty” Squires, 84, of Gloucester, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Emporia, Va., and was a member of Bellamy United Methodist Church. She was retired from the Gloucester Chamber of Commerce and with her husband, was the former owner of the Richard M. Bridges Funeral Home in Gloucester.

She was preceded in death by her infant son, Charles Waverly Bridges, and her husbands, Dickie Bridges and George Squires.

She is survived by her sons, Martin Bridges and Tabb Bridges (Lisa); sister, Jackie Young (Wes); grandchildren, Chad Bridges (Ally), Kelsey Bridges, and Tori Bridges, and her nieces, Teresa, Tracy, Julie, and Amy.

A Celebration of Life was held on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Bellamy United Methodist Church by the Rev. Kenneth Waclo. The family received friends in the fellowship hall following the service.

Memorial donations may be made to Bellamy United Methodist Church or to Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the Riverside Sanders Retirement Community for their care.
