The Mathews High School JV volleyball team played a strong game last Thursday, but came up short in the end to the visiting Lady Indians from Northumberland, losing both sets by scores of 25-14 and 25-10.
Things started off well for Mathews in the first set as Mya Schroeder served an ace to win a point. Mathews continued to rally, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Indians.
The JV Devils will look to get into the win column tonight, Thursday, Sept. 7, when they host King William, starting at 5:30.
