JV Devils fall to Northumberland

The Mathews High School junior varsity volleyball team traveled to Northumberland Tuesday to face the Indians for the first match of the season. It may not have ended in a win for the Lady Devils, but there were some amazing plays throughout the game.
Hannah Davis had two back-to-back kills with Shelby Ray and Delaney Boatman providing the assists. The score was tight but Northumberland took the win in the first set, 25-19.
Ellie Congrove had three aces along with Boatman having two during the game. Hannah Davis came along with another kill in the second set. The final score of the second set was 25-15, Northumberland.
The JV Devils will look to get into the win column tonight when they play host to the Lancaster Red Devils, starting at 5:30 Thursday.
