Julia C. (Lala) Cox, 84, of Hayes, died on March 13, 2024.

She was a native of Williamsburg, and was a member of Gloucester Church of Christ, Hayes.

Survivors include her children, Norman French (Shari), Shell French (Sylvia), Sasi French (Jay), Gail Brunjes (Bob), Patty Green (Richard), Calvin French; siblings, Kenneth Kempton and Sarah Waid (Cissy); nine grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents, Roy Lee Kempton Sr. and Mattie C. Kempton; husband, William J. Cox; daughter, Abigail French; siblings, Roy Lee Kempton Jr. (Tucker) and Jack Kempton (Jackie).

Memorial arrangements will be announced at a later date.
