Joyce Ann Woodson, 88, of Mathews, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2023. Joyce was born on January 14, 1935, and was the daughter of the late Clarence and Mary Nohen. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and also served as the treasurer for numerous years. Joyce enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, and cooking her famous cornbread.

During her working career, she was a bookkeeper for a number of companies including Nohen Armature Co., M&G Transportation Co., Newton’s Bus Service, and Sea Farms.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Paul L. Woodson Sr., and her son, Paul L. Woodson Jr. She is survived by her nieces, Ann Tatterson (John) and Beatrice Gallagher (William); nephew, Norman F. Merritt III; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
