A funeral for Joseph Coleman Blueford, 93, of Gloucester, was held at noon Tuesday, Dec. 27 in Rising Valley Baptist Church. James Store. He died Dec. 19, 2016.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Thomas and Anna Reid Blueford, and his wife, Mary.

He joined the U.S. Navy during World War II, and had been employed by the Virginia Department of Transportation

Survivors include nieces and nephews.

The service was conducted by the Rev. Darry O. Echols. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Howard Funeral Home, Ark, was in charge.
