Jonathan Alan "Jack" McKinsey, 28, of Gloucester Point, was murdered on June 5, 2011 in a heroic attempt to save those he loved.
Jack was a graduate of Challenge Military Academy and furthered his education as a diesel mechanic. He worked at Basic Construction Company.
Jack thoroughly enjoyed times spent with his precious daughter, Hannah, fishing, outdoor activities and hanging out with his friends and family. His compassion for others was demonstrated by feeding the homeless and giving a helping hand to others whenever the need arose.
His memory will be cherished by his family: beloved daughter, Hannah; mother, Nancy McKinsey Borbe; loving stepfather and mentor, Harry Borbe. His memory will be cherished by siblings, Tonja Halmrast and husband John, Paul Ressler and wife Amy, Dawn Tenorio and her husband Walter, Hans Borbe, Kirsten Sanchez and husband, Michael, Christina Dempsey and her sweet son. His shenanigans and fun will be greatly missed by his nieces and nephews, Joshua Visconti, Jacob Perez, Hailey Tenorio, Andrew Halmrast, Jessica Perez, Rebecca Perez, Mackenzie Tenorio, Leah Ressler, Paul Ressler, Colby Tenorio; with grateful hearts and love, his dear Ali and children, Hunter, Matthew and Rebecca.
The family will receive friends at Union Baptist Church on Thursday from 7-8:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 10, 2011, at 11 a.m. in Union Baptist Church. Burial will be in Rosewell Memorial Gardens.
