A vibrant sculpture installation is now in place on Gloucester Main Street as part of the Gloucester Arts Festival.
The Cook Foundation, celebrating its 25th anniversary, placed the half-dozen Seward Johnson Atelier pieces at various sites, including the Historic Court Circle, the Gloucester Museum of History, Yolanda’s, Kelsick Specialty Market, Atlantic Dental, and the Fairfield Foundation. The installation in town of sculptures by well-known artists has become a much-anticipated part of the annual festival.
Many of the pieces in the Gloucester installation are part of Johnson’s “Beyond the Frame” series. They are three-dimensional interpretations of some of the best-known Impressionist and post-Impressionist works.
