John Randolph “Randy” Banks, 72, of Charles City, Va., passed away Saturday, July 27, 2013.

He was a contractor and worked construction for Waltrip Construction, Henderson’s and Richard Carter. Randy had a passion for the outdoor life, enjoying fishing, hunting and a love for farm life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Katherine Banks, and a sister, Ann Banks Waitman.

Randy is survived by his wife of 39 years, Betty; a daughter, Angela Banks Noel; two sons, William David Banks and John Andrew Banks; a step-son, Matthew David Catlett; five grandchildren, Krista Noel, Ryan Noel, Leeanne Banks, Amanda Catlett and J.D. Catlett; a sister, Shirley Banks Little; two brothers, Robert Pascell Banks and Thomas Edward Banks; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3 at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, Va. 23140. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
