John H. “Jack” Brittle, Jr., 85, of Hayes, died Sept. 1, 2013 at his home, surrounded by his family.
Jack retired as a Senior Engineer and Consultant for Exxon Mobil after 43 years of service and then owned his own consulting business for an additional 10 years. He was a charter member of Varina Masonic Lodge No. 272 for 53 years.
Jack will be remembered for his love of family, friends, and passion for being on the water. He also never missed the opportunity to dance the night away.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jonnie G. Vaughn Brittle.
He is survived by daughter, Kathy Bottoms Moxley (Sean); sons, Kenny Brittle, Keith Brittle (Kathy), and Larry Brittle; grandchildren, Jamie Lynch (David) and Cody Bottoms; great-grandchild, Rylee Lynch; sister, Catherine Eggleston (Buddy); brothers, Robert E. Brittle (Lorraine) and George Brittle.
Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Arthur L. Wolz Jr., and Masonic Rites will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Interment will follow in Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home, Wednesday from 7-8:30 p.m.
