John Baptist Demarais, age 90, of Gloucester, died at his home on Monday, January 20, 2025. John was known to family and friends as “Jack” of all trades because of his talent for doing anything. He retired from the U.S. Air Force and BASF and was passionate about raising Arabian horses. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Jean; children, Renee M. Hicks and Ronald K. Demarais; grandchildren, Candice, Jean, and Kelli; great-grandchildren, Jareth, Milo, Mason, and Averi; siblings, Tom, Jim, Greg, Colleen, Mary, and Jeraldine. The family will receive friends at Hogg Funeral Home on Sunday, January 26, 2025, from 3-4 p.m. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, January 27, 2025, at Rosewell Memorial Gardens Cemetery with full military honors.
