Jerry Wayne Dickerson, 70, of Gloucester, Va., passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at his home.

He was born in Newport News, Va., to the late Otis and Mae Elizabeth Dickerson. He was a retired hair dresser and was an avid horticulturist specializing in daylilies. He was a member of the Tidewater Daylily Society and also the Richmond Area Daylily Society.

He is survived by his brothers, George Dickerson and his wife Barbara, Richard Dickerson and his wife Shelby, and Harold Dickerson and his wife Mary; caregiver and niece Cindy; numerous nieces and nephews, and his special friend, Patricia Dillard.

The family will have a time of fellowship and memories on Friday, May 2, 2014, from 6:30-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family would like to give their heartfelt thanks to Riverside Walter Reed Hospice, God’s Angels, and to Jerry’s doctors and nurses for their care.
