The Mathews High School jayvee baseball team traveled to West Point on April 23 for a key district matchup. The Pointers were no match for MHS, with the Devils coming out on top, 20-3.
Reggie Johnson was the offensive leader with two hits and five RBIs. Logan Bell also recorded two hits, along with six other Devils.
On Friday night, the Devils faced off against the Middlesex Chargers in a great district fight. The Chargers came out on top, defeating the Devils, 8-6. Brian Owens, Marshall Barrack and Reggie Johnson recorded two hits each. The Devils played a poor defensive effort, giving James Cook the loss.
The Devils played King William on Tuesday, and look for revenge against the Chargers in Middlesex Friday.
