Jason Brent Kellum of Newport News, beloved son of James (Jimmy) and Debra (Debbie) Kellum was called home on Nov. 19, 2021 after a short illness. He was a former employee at Grafton Collision/Auto Haus. Jason was a very kind and humble person who was loved by all who knew him. Jason enjoyed watching football and racing with his dad and camping and fishing with his sisters and friends. In his earlier years Jason played high school football and loved hanging out with his friends and making music.
Jason was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James and Myrtle Kellum, and maternal grandparents, Bobby and Betty Jones; aunts, Rhonda Marx and Darlene Beale; uncle, Jeff Marx; cousin and best friend, Christopher Marx.
Jason is survived by his parents, James and Debra Kellum; sisters, Crystal Kellum-Arthur (Chuck), Amanda Kellum-Chapman (Nick); uncle, James D. Jones; aunts, Yvonne Wheless (Mike), Sharene Jones, and Denise Jones; most importantly, the loves of his life, his niece, Karlee Chapmen, and nephews, Clyde Arthur and Konnor Chapman.
On Jason’s behalf, we would like to thank all the nurses and staff at Riverside Regional Medical Center for their compassion and loving care that they gave to Jason and our family.
A memorial service will be held at White Marsh Baptist Church, 5123 George Washington Memorial Hwy., Gloucester, Va. 23061, Sunday, Dec. 12, 2021, at 2 p.m. In accordance with the CDC guidelines, masks are required.
