Jason Bart Jarvis, 41, of Hayes, died of a massive heart attack in his mother’s arms at his childhood home on Sept. 4, 2014.
Bart was a 1991 graduate of Gloucester High School and a 1996 graduate of the Newport News Apprentice School.
He loved the York River and spending time at the beach. Bart will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and compassion, and the smiles he brought to the faces of everyone who knew him. He will be missed by all.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Bert Lee Miller, and paternal grandparents, James and Mary Jarvis.
He is survived by his son, Andrew Lee Jarvis; daughter, Ashley Marie Jarvis; mother, Sandra Miller Jarvis; father, James “Bucky” Jarvis and wife Melissa; sister, Karla McMahon and husband Chuck; brother, Kent Jarvis and wife Courtney; maternal grandmother, Lucille Miller “Gongy”; step-sister and step-brother, Kaitlyn and Rhett McWright; nephews, Isaac Ramsey and Riley Jarvis, and nieces, Emilee Jarvis and Elyse McMahon; special uncles and aunts, Johnnie and Brenda Teagle and Ty and Gayle Hudgins; and a host of cousins and dear friends, and his dogs, Josie and Jack.
A service of remembrance will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Inurnment will be private.
