Janice Vaught-White, age 84, of Gloucester, Va., passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, peacefully at her home surrounded by her family.

Born on March 28, 1940 in Indiana, she was the daughter of the late James and Kate Haygood.

She was a retired school bus driver from Gloucester County Public Schools with 26 years’ service.

Janice is survived by her children, Shirley Lynch (Gary) of Carthage, N.C., Craig White (Terri) of Mathews, Linda Watford (Damon) of Gloucester, Beverly Vaught (John) of Gloucester, Gilby White (Jess) of Mathews, and Jim Vaught (Megan) of Williamsburg; 16 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude White; one son, James Byrum, and three sisters.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 25 at 1 p.m. at the Piankatank Community League in Gloucester.
