The Jamestown-Scotland Ferry, operated by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), began following its fall/winter/spring operating schedule on Tuesday.
The ferry has been operating on the summer schedule since May 25 to help accommodate the increase in passengers during the summer travel season.
The JSF is a free service and transports motorists across the James River from Scotland to Jamestown in both directions 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, including major holidays.
Once on board, the trip is approximately 20 minutes. For more information on the JSF, including ferry schedules and views of traffic queues approximately 0.5 mile from the boarding locations, visit www.JSFerry.org.
