A funeral service for James W. Bowden, 102, of Gloucester, was held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Zion Hill Baptist Church, Gloucester. He died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014.

Mr. Bowden was the widower of Lesper L. Bowden. He was a native of Gloucester County and a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church where he had served as treasurer, trustee, Senior Choir and Male Chorus member. He was a veteran of the United States Army, and owned and operated Bowden’s Radiator Service for many years.

Survivors include a sister, Marian Greene of Philadelphia, Pa.

Burial with military honors followed in the church cemetery. 

Howard Funeral Home, Ark, was in charge.
