A funeral for James Petty Heywood, 87, of Hayes, was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31 in Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. He died Jan. 28, 2015.

He was born in Gloucester County. He retired from B.M. Bunting Seafood, opening his own seafood business, constructing a crab processing building on his property in Severn. He was a member of Union Baptist Church, Achilles.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Kellum Heywood.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda H. West; sisters, Margie Doust and Mary Ann Hall; brothers, Clarence Bonniville and James Bonniville, and two grandsons.

The service was conducted by the Rev. Richard Whiteheart and interment followed in Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery.
