James “Coop” Michael Cooper, 66, of Gloucester, passed away peacefully September 15, 2024, with his family by his side.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Cheryl Haywood Cooper; his son, Travis Cooper (Charlyn); daughter, Nicole Hall (Timmy), and two very special grandchildren, Lilly and Ford Hall.

Coop never met a stranger, and he loved to tell a good story. He was always willing to lend a helping hand but never asked for help in return. He had many friends and a large family that will miss him dearly. To help ease the financial burden for Cheryl, monetary donations can be made directly to Cheryl or at Chesapeake Bank in Gloucester for Cheryl Cooper.

Per Coop’s request the family will be having a celebration of life at a later date in his honor.
Arrangements were in care of Altmeyer Funeral Home-Denbigh Chapel.
