James Edward Rondomanski (Jim/Jimmy), a former Gloucester resident, passed away unexpectedly on November 25, 2023 at the age of 44 in his home in Newport News, Va. He was a devoted husband, father, and stepfather.
He was born on November 22, 1979 (Thanksgiving Day) on the U.S. Navy Submarine Base in Groton, Conn. He was a 1997 graduate of Gloucester High School, in the marching band, loved soccer, and obtained the rank of Eagle Scout. To know Jimmy was to love him. He had the biggest heart and would do anything for anyone, no questions asked. Not only was Jimmy kind and generous, he was genuinely funny and never met a stranger. He loved spending time with his family, traveling, camping, listening to music, attending concerts, and he was an avid fisherman. His favorite holiday was Halloween and in fact proposed to his wife, Priscila, on Halloween 13 years ago. His favorite color was black and was rarely without his black t-shirts and hats. Jimmy was a hard worker and excelled at most everything he tried. He will be very much missed by all who knew him. Jimmy’s final words to his daughter were: “I have and will always love you, Mila, my beautiful baby girl. You are the light of my life and the best thing that has ever happened to me.”
He is survived by his wife, Priscila Grizotti; step-daughter, Victoria, and daughter, Mila; parents, Edward and Dorothy Rondomanski; sister, Lisa Dobson and her husband Scott; nephew, Allen and niece, Emma; brother, Daniel (Danny) Rondomanski and his wife Ellen, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will be at W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home, 210 Harpersville Road, Newport News, Va. 23601 from 3-6 p.m. with a remembrance of his life at 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2023. Following services there will be a fellowship time from 6-8 p.m. at First Church Ministries, 410 Flannery O’Conner Street, Newport News, Va. 23606.
In lieu of flowers we are asking that donations be made to a go-fund me page for Mila Rondomanski.
