James Edward Godsey, 79, of Onemo, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 8, 2011, at his home.

Jimmy was born on March 8, 1932. He was a loving husband, a wonderful father and grandfather. He loved the Chesapeake Bay where he was a lifelong waterman of 61 years, enjoying Winter Harbor for all of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Garnett Godsey. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Gloria Wilson Godsey; two sons, Jamie Godsey and wife Stacey of Poquoson and Kevin Godsey, and special friend Amber Moore of Richmond. He was the proud grandfather of Nathan and Hannah Godsey of Poquoson.

The family received friends on Sunday, July 10, 2011, at Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews, from 2-3 p.m. Funeral services were held on Sunday at 3 o’clock in the funeral home chapel with interment in St. Paul Annex Cemetery.
